Oreo Cakesters With Sprinkles

Oreo Cakesters with Sprinkles

Supper came from the Chinese place today, I got up at 5am to get a website concept ready for a client today, got to work and started messing with the CSS files (something I'm NOT qualified to do) and broke it. So I had to spend all day fixing what I messed up. Anyway, that meant the homemade hoagie rolls I was planning to use to make meatball subs didn't happen.  So, Joy Luck it was. We did have a little fun today funfetti-cookies-betty-crockerthough. We made our own version of Oreo Cakesters. We being the littlest girl child and myself.

It all starts with a box.  Ok, yeah, maybe it shouldn't...but remember....broke a client's website.

Vanilla is for the weak, so we used the chocolate version. Just mix 'em up like the box says and toss them in your oven.  Probably a good idea to turn it on first too....just saying.

My first intention was to use the icing from the cinnamon rolls the other day, but I did a little google searching and came up with an oreo cream clone.  Say that 3 times fast will ya?

Oreo Creme Filling

1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
3 cups confectioners' sugar, siftedIMAG0326
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Using a mixer, cream the butter and shortening until fluffy. Beat in the confectioners' sugar and vanilla.

The end result was just YUM!  I can think of many uses for that filling too!

I gotta run...some faux oreo products are calling my name.
